They are home tests and there is no need to visit a doctor to have a sample taken or to have the results analysed. A special kit will be sent to your home, from the lab, and all that is needed is a thumb prick to release enough blood to soak a small swab. Offer Number 1 - Cambridge Nutritional Sciences, 120 + Food IgG Test £120.00 (full price £205.00) The 120-foods test costs £120 (sterling) and the lab also discount the Candida Albicans test at £50.00 (full price £65.00) and both tests can be done with the same sample if ordered at the same time. The lab accepts credit cards and you simply enter your details on the specially designed form that accompanies the kit. You will also be asked two simple clinical questions on the form - e.g. Date of Diagnosis and which clinic or hospital you attend. You will also be asked to award yourself a percentage health score (0-100) to describe your current state of health whereby 0 represents "the worst health you can imagine" and 100 represents "the best health you can imagine". Enter your chosen score on the form. You are responsible for postage and you will need to go to the post office counter to arrange it. If it is not already obvious from the label enclosed, please add the words "England" or "UK" to the bottom of the label. Some have been returned to sender in the past. Offer Number 2 - York Labs, 113 foods test - £120.00 (full price £265) The conditions with this offer are that you complete a short questionnaire (EQ5D) prior to taking the test, and again after a period of 90 days, and agree to avoid those foods identified by the test as "Avoids" and at least rotate those identified as "Rotate" for the 90day period. With this test you will be offered two half hour telephone consultations with a nutritionist at York Laboratories, who will be able to answer your questions and advise you on your diet. Again, the lab accepts credit cards and will contact you by telephone or e-mail for your details. You are responsible for postage and you will need to go to the post office counter to arrange it. If it is not already obvious from the label enclosed, please add the words "England" or "UK" to the bottom of the label. The EQ5D Questionnaire also includes the percentage health score question mentioned previously. In other words, you will also be asked to award yourself a percentage health score (0-100) to describe your current state of health whereby 0 represents "the worst health you can imagine" and 100 represents "the best health you can imagine". Enter your chosen score on the form. It is advisable to keep a copy of your answers to this and the subsequent EQ5D questionnaire. If the form goes missing in the post, which has happened in the past, you will be asked to send them again. General Advice on ELISA Tests. To convert to your own currency, simply multiply by the exchange rate for that day. In other words, if you are in the US and the exchange rate for that day is £1 = $1.64, simply multiply the cost of the test by 1.64. For example, if you have decided to take the 120-foods test with Cambridge, at a cost of £120.00, then the cost in US dollars is £120 x $1.64 = $196.8. The cost of the discounted Candida Albicans test is £50, and the price in US dollars is £50 x $1.64 = $82. You may be asked to rate yourself again by either lab, to help them evaluate the usefulness of the test. If you have any trouble taking the test or would like further information please contact the MSRC office on 01206 226500 and ask to speak to Jeanette. You can download the ELISA tests order form from here.
