2 phases of MS? Letter to Ashton Embry from Brian Pile dated 14th January, 2003 Hi Aston I just came across this PDF (This PDF can be downloaded by clicking on "Click here for more information" at the bottom of this article)- have you seen this one before? Regards Brian Reply from Ashton Embry, dated 14th January, 2003 Brian, I saw it when it came out and I immediately emailed Larry Steinman and told him MS has three, not two, phases. He forgot about the most critical one, the sub-clinical phase which lasts from early childhood to diagnosis with R-R MS. Sometimes the subclinical phase is followed directly by the progressive phase most commonly in middle age. In phase 1 MS is easy to beat with nutrition especially adequate vitamin D and omega 3 EFA. In phase 2 it is tougher but nutrition can usually win the day if used rigorously. In phase 3, the phase you are most familiar with, MS is even tougher to halt, but nutrition can still potentially provide very important benefits. Here is some great stuff on vitamin D supplementation which just arrived. Ashton Response from Brian Pile, dated 14th January,2003 Thanks Ashton I knew you would have been onto it- and the comment you make about the progressive phase still being a candidate for nutritional methods of treatment (ie BBD) is very reassuring. I will share all this with the group. Regards Brian
